P&O Cruises gives away dream cruise holiday – with an audience of thousands

A couple from York has won the holiday of a lifetime on board P&O Cruises newest ship, Britannia. However, this is a holiday with a twist, as they have no control over what they will be doing.  Everything that they do on board and on shore will be chosen for them by P&O Cruises thousands of followers on Facebook and Twitter.

Freddy Berry and Karen Pacaud, aged 57 and 52 respectively, were chosen by a panel of expert judges to join a two week Caribbean cruise on board the award-winning Britannia. Having never cruised before, this trip is designed to push them out of their comfort zone and experience the vast range of sights, activities, entertainment and dining that will result in a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

During their cruise, Freddy and Karen will be spoilt for choice as they experience Britannia's 13 bars, 13 restaurants, nine theatres and show lounges, four swimming pools, Cookery Club, sports arena, spa, gym, library, shops, three-tier feature atrium, £1 million art collection plus much more. They'll also enjoy delicious gala dinner menus specially created for P&O Cruises by renowned chef Marco Pierre White, a fine dining Indian restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar and The Glass House wine bar featuring 40 wines by the glass from expert Olly Smith.

Freddy, a business consultant, and Karen, who runs a small French-themed cafe in Boroughbridge, both like to keep fit and are looking forward to trying all the activities on board as well as exploring the Caribbean on Britannia's exciting array of shore excursions. Everything that they do will be shown live on P&O Cruises social media channels from what they wear, where they go, what they do and what they see.

P&O Cruises senior vice president, Paul Ludlow, said: "This is an incredible introduction to cruising for Freddy and Karen and I'm sure they'll be hooked within hours. Where else could they relax in the spa's thermal suite, zip line through the rainforest, rustle up a two course meal in the Cookery Club, enjoy a world-class stage show and dine from a menu created by the legendary godfather of British cooking, Marco Pierre White, all in the space of one day?

The 14 night cruise from Barbados to St Lucia visits Curacao, Aruba, Grenada, St Vincent, Dominica, Antigua and St Maarten.
